About the Opera:
The Passenger exploded onto the world stage with sold out houses and standing ovations in London, Chicago and New York. Florida Grand Opera is one of only five cities in North America presenting this epic production.
The opera tells the story of Liese, aboard an ocean liner, who is stunned to see another passenger she recognizes as a prisoner from Auschwitz. Liese’s husband knows nothing of her past as an overseer in the camp, and she is forced to confess and confront the reality of her past.
The Passenger is performed by an international cast in multiple languages, including German, English, Polish, Yiddish, French, Russian, and Czech, with subtitles presented in English and Spanish.
