We encourage our members to alert us to humanitarian projects that would be of interest to the Yale community.  The AYA and Dwight Hall are increasingly forming interesting projects and we will try to identify them on this website.  If you want to spend a week or weekend outside of Miami on a special project, contact us and we will connect you with the appropriate entity.  

The Rotary Club of Coral Gables has agreed to allow our members to participate in their many projects and our alumni have begun to do so.  Our alumni are quite busy and not often able to sustain a long term commitment and these already planned events (See Events List or Calendar) allow us to join in and help at any time.  We are contacting other Rotary clubs in the Miami Dade area to increase our base of opportunities.  

The AYA conducted a week long trip to the Dominican Republic from March 9th - 17th, in which over 70 Yale alumni participated in various charitable projects including the construction of a childrens' hospital, the development of several hospices for needy children and mothers, etc.  The impact on the Yale volunteers was as profound and life changing as the impact of the DR recipients.

Mark Dollhopf, Executive Director of the AYA, personally directed this project in the DR.  More such projects are being planned.
